Optimizing Perioperative Nursing Care in Oral Surgery

Abstract

Oral surgery is a branch of dentistry and surgical medicine that treats diseases and disorders of the mouth, jaw, and face through a wide range of treatments. Oral surgery is crucial for patients’ overall oral health, pain relief, function restoration, and cosmetics, whether it’s a simple tooth extraction or a sophisticated maxillofacial reconstruction.

Dental professionals, anesthesiologists, perioperative nurses, and oral and maxillofacial surgeons are all integral parts of oral surgery, making it a distinct medical specialty in healthcare. Every member of the multidisciplinary team works together to provide patients with the high-quality care they need, according to their specific requirements.

Delivering top-notch perioperative nursing care is essential for the outcome of any oral surgery procedure. Perioperative nurses are essential cogs in the wheel of surgery, coordinating everything from preoperative evaluation and planning to intraoperative assistance and postoperative care. Care for the whole person, including their mental, emotional, and social health, falls under their purview, going beyond only technical duties.

Technologies and materials of the future for the treatment of oral disorders

Abstract

In addition to being one of the most significant factors that put the physical and mental health of the human body in jeopardy, oral disease also places a significant load and strain on both people and society as a whole. According to the most recent definition of oral health that was developed by the World Health Organization (WHO), the data that is currently available appears to indicate that the number of oral diseases that are prevalent in the population is greater than 3.5 billion. Materials, such as filling materials for tooth flaws, osteogenic materials for bone defects, implants for the restoration of missing teeth, and so on, are utilized in the treatment of the majority of oral disorders. Both the dangers of oral diseases and the significance of preserving oral health are gradually becoming more known and respected by the general population, particularly in countries that are still in the process of building their economies. To the best of our knowledge, the global market for titanium dental implants alone had reached $6.3 billion in 2021, according to statistics that are only partially comprehensive. Periodontitis and tooth loss are two examples of oral disorders that have seen an increase in incidence as a result of the aging of the world’s population. It is for this reason that the development of oral materials and technologies has enormous opportunities, both in terms of space and social and economic benefits (Dai et al.,2017).

The Efficacy of Nursing Interventions in Promoting Pain Management Among Pediatric Patients

Abstract

One of the most frequent reasons individuals consult physicians or other members of the health team is for pain, which is also a major symptom of many clinical conditions. Pain diminishes the quality of life in children; therefore, preventative measures against pain must be implemented in every area. In spite of advancements in pain management techniques over the last four decades, pain continues to be a worldwide concern among patients who are hospitalized. 86% of hospitalized children experienced pain, with nearly 40% suffering from moderate-to-severe pain (Stevens & Zempsky, 2021).

Experiencing pain is a significant cause of discomfort for both children who are in the hospital, their family caregivers, and the healthcare professionals who take care of them. Children may experience pain due to physical trauma, illness progression, invasive medical procedures, or unidentified causes. The impact of unaddressed or inadequately controlled pain in children should not be underestimated (Achaliwie, 2021). In addition to the immediate bio-psycho-socio-developmental impacts on the child experiencing pain, it can also result in changes in pain sensitivity and the development of chronic pain, which incur significant financial costs for treatment and place a burden on families, healthcare systems, and countries. The presence of these unfavorable outcomes emphasizes the necessity for cautious administration of pain in youngsters.

The role of anaesthesia and nursing in dental radiology centers

Abstract

Advancements in imaging technology have greatly simplified the process of diagnosing maxillofacial disorders in the last several years. In recent years, there has been a rise in the use of 3D radiographic diagnostic exams in the field of dentistry and the maxillofacial region. These exams, when analyzed using software that facilitates the viewing of images and various graphic reworking, have many advantages over the traditional method of using multiple radiographs to diagnose and treat pathologies and conditions (Mangano, C., et al., 2018; Alkhayer, A., et al., 2020).  Due to its accessibility and prevalence in dental clinics, CBCT has become the most popular and extensively utilized 3D test in general dentistry. From endodontics, where the FoV is very small for individual teeth, to orthodontics, where the FoV is far greater, the ability to change the FoV while preserving a very high picture quality finds its utility in a wide variety of applications.

The Role of Nursing, Medical Secretaries and Clinical Laboratories in Improving Patient Experience and Treatment Outcomes

Abstract

In the field of healthcare, providing high-quality patient care depends not only on the skills of medical experts but also on the cooperative contributions of several essential roles within the healthcare system. Within this set of tasks, nurses, medical secretaries, and clinical laboratories have crucial functions in guaranteeing that patients receive the best possible care, have positive interactions, and attain favorable treatment results.

Nurses, being essential figures in the field of healthcare, have a crucial responsibility in delivering and organizing care, preventing negative incidents, and maximizing the efficiency of health services and patient results (Aiken et al., 2014). Nurses have a duty to ensure healthcare quality that goes beyond providing safe care based on the best evidence and clinical standards. They also play a role in participating in the larger organizational and system structures that promote quality and safety (Oldland et al., 2020). Nurses are obligated to assess, track, and communicate the suitability and efficacy of healthcare, thereby contributing to enhancements in healthcare quality. They have a crucial function in supporting, implementing, and assessing eHealth applications to enhance patient safety. They also contribute to the design and management of facilities, equipment, and work procedures to ensure safety.

The Role of Nurses in Managing Chronic Diseases: A Comprehensive Review

Abstract

Chronic diseases, such as diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, represent a significant burden on global healthcare systems. Nurses are increasingly recognized as vital agents in the management of these conditions. This comprehensive review examines the multifaceted role of nurses in chronic disease management, focusing on patient education, care coordination, evidence-based practice, and interdisciplinary collaboration. Through an analysis of recent literature and previous studies, this paper synthesizes current research findings to highlight effective nursing interventions and strategies that improve patient outcomes. The review also discusses challenges such as resource constraints, patient adherence issues, and the need for continued professional development. Ultimately, the paper underscores the importance of integrating nursing expertise into chronic disease management protocols and suggests future directions for research and policy development to support and expand the role of nurses in this critical area of healthcare.

“The Effect of Antiviral Drugs on the Spread of Influenza Virus”

Abstract

Antiviral drugs are essential in managing and controlling influenza by diminishing symptom severity, minimizing the duration of illness, and preventing complications. This study investigates the effectiveness of antiviral medications in alleviating influenza symptoms and reducing viral transmission. The research underscores the significance of antiviral drugs for high-risk groups, such as the elderly, pregnant women, and persons with preexisting health issues, who are more susceptible to severe repercussions. Moreover, antivirals are essential in mitigating influenza-related complications, including pneumonia, and in decreasing hospitalization rates. Besides their medicinal application, antiviral drugs are crucial for managing epidemics by diminishing transmission, particularly in healthcare environments. Vaccines are essential for influenza prevention, while antiviral medications are crucial for controlling acute infections, especially during unexpected outbreaks or pandemics.

Keywords: Antiviral medications, influenza, oseltamivir, zanamivir, baloxavir marboxil, symptom severity, viral replication, viral shedding, influenza prevention.
