The effectiveness of fluoride varnish and fissure sealant in decreasing caries risk in nursing field: A systematic review

Abstract

Vital for prioritising preventive measures at the local level, determining the efficacy of these measures requires evaluation. To that end, we set out to thoroughly review the literature on how fluoride varnish and fissure sealant affect dental caries in kids aged 6–12. We used the terms “fluoride varnish,” “fissure sealant,” “caries,” and “oral health” to search the databases PubMed, EMBASE, Web of Science, the Cochrane Library, and Scopus. Our article search will cover the years 2000 through December 2020. The meta-analysis was conducted with the help of the CMA software version 2 (Comprehensive Meta-Analysis). This study compared two intervention groups, fluoride varnish and fissure sealants, to a control group. There were nine total studies incorporated. There were 84,380 participants in the intervention group and 11,254 in the control group. Randomized clinical trials (RCTs) and field RCTs accounted for eight of the studies, while the remaining two were non-RCTs. Four of the varnishes were entirely effective, one was ineffective, and all four were effective as a Fissure Sealant in the trial. Indexes for decaying, missing, and filled permanent teeth (DMFT) and primary teeth (dmfp) differed significantly between intervention and comparison groups. In addition, the mean DMFT differences between the treatment and control groups were 0.55 and 0.29 for fluoride varnish and fissure sealant, respectively (P=0.00). Health goals of societies and health systems treatments in countries can include fissure sealant and fluoride varnish because of their effectiveness in avoiding dental caries in children aged 6-12 years.

Keywords: effectiveness of fluoride varnish, fluoride varnish , fissure sealant , decreasing caries risk.

“Exploring the Potential of Herbal Medicines in Modern Pharmacotherapy”

Abstract

There has been a recent uptick in curiosity about herbal remedies as a potential substitute for or adjunct to traditional pharmaceuticals. Various civilizations have long relied on herbal medicines, which are made from plant materials or extracts of plants, for their supposed medicinal properties. Factors such as a desire for more holistic approaches to treatment, cultural traditions, and the perceived naturalness of herbal therapies are driving their return in modern times.

Herbal medications consist of various botanicals, each possessing a complex combination of bioactive chemicals. The substances mentioned, such as alkaloids, flavonoids, terpenoids, and polyphenols, possess diverse pharmacological properties and can potentially impact physiological processes in the human body. Therefore, they serve as a valuable reservoir of biologically active substances that could be utilized for medicinal applications.

“The Impact of Health Care Workers Motivation on Service Quality in Saudi Governmental Hospitals”

Abstract

The main purpose of this research is to discuss how employee’s motivation process can affect and increase the level of quality provided by hospitals to patients in government hospital in Saudi Arabia, Nurse performance depends on individual and hierarchical factors. Character, abilities, job history, age, orientation, and inspiration are individual factors. Hierarchical construction, work plan, oversight, and control are health care management variables. One authoritative manufacturing plant is how executives plan a patient administration technique, which is a nursing task strategy. Long-term workers are better at business management. Medical nurses’ experience and length of service negatively impact nursing care. Medical caregivers’ understanding of consideration, direct contact with patient suffering, exhaustion, heavy working conditions, and increased use of technology can cause fatigue, especially if they relate to social obligation. Group task techniques let medical staff collaborate on tasks. Collaboration allows nurses to share information and participate in ongoing administrations, which can improve their knowledge and skills.

Key words:  employee’s motivation, quality, governmental, hospitals, patients

The Role of Public Health Policies in Addressing Non-Communicable Diseases

Abstract

Non-communicable diseases (NCDs) impose a significant health and economic burden on local and national governments. Non-communicable diseases (NCDs) are diseases that are not caused by infectious agents. The aetiology of these diseases can be attributed to either hereditary or behavioural causes. They encompass coronary heart disease, stroke, hypertension (high blood pressure), type 2 diabetes, kidney disease, specific types of cancer, respiratory and liver diseases, excessive weight and obesity, as well as some mental health disorders. These diseases are the main cause of illness and death worldwide, and low- and middle-income nations experience a higher burden of these diseases compared to other countries. The majority of non-communicable diseases (NCDs) can be attributed to the modifiable factors of tobacco use, excessive alcohol use, unhealthy food, and insufficient physical exercise (Unwin, et al.2017).

credentials of nurses in the standard precaution for infection control, Saudi Arabia

Abstract

As frontline health workers, nurses play a huge role in implementing standard practices that prevent the spread of infections in healthcare facilities. Infection control is critical in healthcare delivery, especially in densely populated areas such as Mecca, Saudi Arabia, which has an influx of pilgrims annually for religious purposes. Implementing these precautions effectively requires these nurses to have tailor-made competencies in Mecca’s unique context. This paper will discuss various aspects of the program, including content, delivery methods, participant feedback, and outcomes, which will be evaluated to determine critical strengths, weaknesses, and areas for future improvement. As a result, this evaluation’s findings would help enhance the training program’s efficiency and spread more efficient infection control practices among nurses in Mecca. Infection control is a global concern for the national healthcare system since it is critical to controlling the development of infectious diseases and ensuring public safety. Standard precautions are recommendations from the World Health Organization and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention focused on preventing healthcare-related infections. These include hygiene, personal protective equipment, vaccination, safe injection practices, respiratory hygiene, and environmental cleanliness.

Pharmaceutical medications and natural therapeutic products for managing diabetes mellitus

Abstract

Diabetes mellitus is a prevalent and long-lasting disease that affects children and adolescents in both developed and developing countries worldwide. Diabetes mellitus encompasses two primary types: type I and type II. The former refers to an autoimmune condition that results in malfunction of the pancreatic 𝛽-cells, resulting to insufficient generation of insulin. The latter condition is caused by decreased responsiveness to insulin in the specific tissues (such as skeletal muscle, liver, and adipose tissue), followed by inadequate production of insulin. Both scenarios lead to a consistent increase in blood sugar levels, known as sustained hyperglycemia. Prolonged uncontrolled hyperglycemia results in the progressive deterioration of the blood vessels that provide nourishment to the organs of the body, resulting in damage to the heart, eyes, kidneys, and nervous system. Macrovascular (atherosclerotic) and microvascular (retinopathy and nephropathy) problems are the primary reasons for illness and death in individuals with diabetes. Diabetes is a complex condition that encompasses a group of metabolic problems, rather than being a single disease (Zaid, et al.2016).

The Effectiveness of Using Robots in Facilitating Nursing Operations and Improving the Accuracy of Care

Abstract

The use of robotic technology into healthcare environments has received considerable interest in recent years due to its potential to transform patient care. An area of investigation that shows great potential is the use of robots in nursing operations. These modern machines are designed to aid healthcare personnel in many aspects of care delivery.

With the rising pressures placed on healthcare systems, particularly due to the increasing prevalence of chronic diseases, there is an urgent need for creative solutions to enhance the delivery of care. Robots possess distinct qualities that can enhance the capacities of human healthcare practitioners, encompassing the automation of repetitive chores and the provision of accurate data collecting and analysis. Healthcare organizations aim to enhance the efficiency, cost-effectiveness, quality, and safety of patient care by utilizing robotics technology.
